Team Development...that presentation

The other day, I gave a brief presentation on Team Development as part of the People Growth Plan initiatives taken by my department. I presented a management model of team life cycle. I've came across quite some team life cycle models myself, but none of them seemed to have a significant mention of the life cycle of the project in which the team operates. My effort was to present the metamorphosis of the project team with respect to that of the project itself. I also mentioned the possible measures that a leader could undertake to ensure the smooth funtioning of the project.

A Project Has Ended...

One of our projects on archival of publications just ended. We just finished up XML enhancement of magazine articles published weekly by a publication that boasts to be one of the world's largest media houses. A magazine that's published every week, listing celebrities whom we know and whom we don't. Thirty-one years of publications...all ended in a smart six-month period, thanks to a motivated and dedicated team. Ask me what it means to keep a team too clubbed together to be like a family, and I've quite some examples. Going forward, keep watching this space for my comments on people (and general) management methods.

Something to remember

There are more instances in life where you feel that you speak and there is no one to hear you. When this thought grows within you, you start getting reluctant to think...reluctant to come up with new ideas...unwilling or rather stop daring to dream. This is something that eradicates creativity from cubicles. Managers looking forward to institute transparency in corporate governance should, as a matter of fact, develop this freedom of expression in the production floor, for better efficiency.

The second innings..

The New Year...still new even after 23 days!! Happy New Year!. Life's taking turns now. There are plans to work out. Let me see... A shift in residence. A change in the seat in office. A shift in official responsibilities. A firewall in domestic relations. Many commas, and a full-stop. Some paragraph changes in friendships. Things are taking a topsy-turvy here. Well, I'll wait.

Introduction

Today is Christmas and I'm waiting in my office to complete a shipment since yesterday morning. Still there are reasons to smile since I squeezed out some time to join the world as another blogger in this World Wide Web full of bloggers. I prioritized knowledge here, because I had been attending queries from some students regarding what is better known as wave mechanical structure of the atom. I myself am asking questions to members of various news groups on the eXtensible Mark-up Language and the Web. I believe, sharing never dilutes the value of knowledge, rather it increases the same.
